“B Lab” — from the initials of Beyond, Borderless, Breakthrough — is a research institute and a participatory platform connecting universities, research institutions, regions and talent worldwide.
It exists to turn collaboration into technologies, services and businesses that do something for society. Anyone, from parents to children, counts as a researcher. The goal is to build an interesting future by matching challenges, ideas, technology, funding, skills and people.
Why it matters
Using technology to create new music experiences.
Our goal is to let everyone learn music and enjoy what it does for them. A physical instrument combined with digital tools is how we get there — and a research platform is where that idea gets tested rather than asserted.
Our activities take a learner from assembling their own instrument, to painting it, to learning to play it through a game, to digitising it for the Web3 world and selling it for charity.
Music learning can be fun — at any age.
